Once you enrol in a TAFE NSW course you are issued a TAFE username and password; these will be printed on your TAFE NSW fees receipt.
Your username is formatted firstname.lastname, e.g. jane.citizen. There may also be a number in your username. e.g. jane.citizen21.

If you can't remember your password, you can reset it yourself online.
You will need to have previously provided your personal email address. We will use your personal email address to send you instructions on how to reset your password.

Every TAFE NSW student is provided with a free email account to use for the duration of their course.
You can access your student email by logging in to the Learner Portal <https://my.tafensw.edu.au> on any classroom or library computer, or on any external computer with internet access. Once logged in click on the email button to open your TAFE student email account.
If this is your first time logging in to the Portal, you will find your username and temporary password on your tax invoice. You will be prompted to reset your password and set up secret questions and answers to maximise security and to help you reset your password if you ever forget it.
TAFE staff and students can access the Wireless network in all Hunter TAFE Libraries.

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a national student number that links to an online account containing all your training records for courses you have completed from 1 January 2015 onwards.

If you have forgotten your USI, or if you can't remember if you have one, you can use the Forgotten USI function to try and retrieve it.
As a TAFE NSW student, you now have access to a free Office 365 account which allows you to log in and download applications (also called apps) including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook email and OneDrive storage.
You can use these apps to connect via video meetings and email, create materials during your studies, share files with your teachers, store your study materials and more.
If your teacher is using Microsoft Teams to collaborate, you also have access to the Teams app to join a tutorial meeting or access your Class Team for studies.
